About us
Flexibility, quality, innovation – these are keywords that are used frequently. They motivate us every day in collaboration with our customers.
The foundations for Maibach Industrie-Plastic GmbH were laid in 1946. A great deal of innovation and courage led to the company’s current profile, which has been
shaped and developed over the decades. Led from the outset by the owner family, it is still a family business to this day. This makes us extremely flexible and independent.
History
1946

On 8 July 1946, Gerd D. Maibach and his wife, Hilde Maibach, had a woodworking company entered on the Göppingen commercial register. It mostly produced hand-painted wooden plates and cases.
1946
1952

Maibach began to work with a completely new material, ‘plastic’. He was building a number of machines at this time.
1958

Maibach was the largest thermoforming company in southern Germany. The Maibach company owned many patents and industrial property rights, for example, it manufactured the plastic guide pole over 40 years ago, and even the tilting slalom pole comes from Maibach.
1958
1962

Maibach began GRP production at this time. A wide range of products from all sectors of industry were manufactured, e.g. roofs for telephone booths, sound hoods for textile machines, racing car bodies, kayaks, racing boats, agricultural machinery parts, advertising signs, cleaning equipment, medical enclosures, etc. as well as anti-glare protection for motorways, guard posts, noise protection elements for roads, railways, power plants, airports and, above all, high-quality transport and storage containers – through to large containers – as well as high-tech products for medical technology and aerospace. The tools required for GRP production were designed and manufactured in-house.
1972

Maibach IPG moved into its new production facility at the Eislingen site with larger premises and new technology.
1972
1982

Maibach IPG has been a supplier to the German armed forces since 1982 and gradually expanded its product range for the military sector.
The armed forces and countries counted among its customers have also expanded since then.
2004

In 2004, daughter Karin Maibach-Liebetrau and her husband Peter Liebetrau took over the management of the family business.
2004
2012

In addition to the proven transport and storage containers, the company has also been producing rotary-cast transport solutions with a length of up to 12 metres since 2012.
2022

In 2022, the founder’s granddaughter, Lena Liebetrau, joined the management team and has been running the company with co-managing director Holger Ambacher since 2024.
